Gossip: Dhruv Vikram Addresses Scrutiny After Anupama's Interview
The actor acknowledged that recent attention has affected him, but he did not name Anupama or directly respond to the allegations she made about an unnamed former partner.
Actor Dhruv Vikram has spoken about the intense public attention surrounding his personal life in recent weeks, saying that the scrutiny has affected him while stressing the importance of staying grounded in what he knows to be true.
Dhruv made the comments during the India Today Tamil Nadu Roundtable in Chennai. Asked how he deals with heightened scrutiny, the actor said he could not claim that it had never affected him.
“If I’m being honest, I can’t say it has never affected me,” Dhruv said. He added that it was important to “anchor yourself in reality,” understand what one stands for and protect the people and things that matter. He also said that when a person is aligned with the truth, public scrutiny can only go so far.
His remarks have drawn attention because they come days after Anupama Parameswaran spoke publicly about a difficult past relationship.
In an interview with I AM with Dhanya Varma, Anupama said she had experienced what she described as “narcissistic abuse” over a two-year period. She spoke about the emotional and physical toll of that relationship and, in a subsequent part of the conversation, described experiencing anxiety, panic attacks, blackouts and weight loss.
However, Anupama did not identify the former partner she was referring to.
That distinction is important. Sections of social media and entertainment media have connected her account to Dhruv because the two actors had earlier been the subject of dating speculation, but neither Anupama nor Dhruv has publicly confirmed that they were in a relationship. Dhruv also did not mention Anupama in his Roundtable comments or directly answer the claims she made about her unnamed ex-partner.
The two actors worked together in Mari Selvaraj’s 2025 Tamil film Bison Kaalamaadan. The film’s official trailer credits Dhruv and Anupama among its cast, alongside Pasupathy, Ameer, Lal and Rajisha Vijayan.
Dhruv also explained his limited social-media presence, saying he enjoys shooting and editing personal videos but generally uses Instagram more actively when promoting a film. Away from promotions, he said he prefers activities such as reading and listening to music.
