Privacy Policy
Last updated and effective: September 7, 2026
Telugu Americans Digital LLC ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") operates teluguamericans.com, including its subdomains, newsletters, applications, and related digital services (collectively, the "Platform"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect personal information. Where applicable law requires consent for a particular activity, we request that consent separately.
1. Scope
This Policy applies to information collected through the Platform and associated electronic communications. It does not govern a third party's independent collection through a service it controls, even if the Platform links to or embeds that service.
2. Information We Collect
Depending on the services used, we may collect:
Identifiers and contact information: name, username, email address, postal address, telephone number, and account credentials.
Profile information: professional, organisational, cultural, or community affiliations and information supplied for a user or contributor profile.
Submissions and communications: comments, articles, photographs, recordings, feedback, correspondence, and support requests.
Commercial information: subscription, event, purchase, refund, and transaction records. Third-party processors handle payments; we do not intentionally store complete payment-card or bank-account credentials.
Technical information: IP address, browser and device type, operating system, device identifiers, approximate location derived from IP address, requested pages, access times, referring pages, and security or error logs.
Analytics information: when Google Analytics is enabled, pages viewed, referral source, session activity, approximate location, browser and device information, and pseudonymous analytics identifiers.
Other information: information voluntarily supplied or described when collected.
Please do not submit sensitive personal information unless a feature requests it and explains why it is needed.
3. Sources
We collect information directly from users; automatically through routine hosting, security, and Google Analytics technologies; from providers supporting hosting, security, payments, communications, and analytics; from authorised contributors or organisations; and from public sources for legitimate journalistic purposes.
4. How We Use Information
We may use information to:
Operate, secure, maintain, and improve the Platform;
Create and administer accounts;
Publish, edit, and moderate editorial and user-submitted content;
Deliver requested newsletters and communications;
Process transactions and provide support;
Understand aggregate traffic, readership, referral sources, and technical performance;
Prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents;
Enforce our Terms of Service;
Comply with law; and
Establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
5. Disclosures
We may disclose information to contracted providers supporting hosting, security, payments, communications, and analytics, including Google when Google Analytics is enabled; affiliates; the public when publication is authorised; professional advisers; authorities or other parties when lawfully required or reasonably necessary to protect rights or safety; and parties to a proposed or completed corporate transaction under appropriate safeguards.
We do not sell personal information, share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, or use it to select advertisements based on a user's behaviour across unrelated websites. Advertisements sourced directly by us are static or contextual and are not selected using an individual user's browsing profile.
6. Cookies, Usercentrics, and Google Analytics
Wix and its hosting, security, content-delivery, or application services may use strictly necessary cookies or technical identifiers to deliver requested functions, maintain security, balance traffic, or preserve a login session.
We may use Google Analytics solely to understand Platform traffic, readership, referrals, and technical performance. Google Analytics may use cookies or similar identifiers and process information about sessions, pages viewed, approximate location, referral source, browser, and device. We do not use Google Analytics to personalise advertisements or create advertising profiles. We do not enable Google Signals or advertising-personalisation features or link Analytics to Google advertising products.
We use the Usercentrics consent-management tool provided through Wix. Where applicable law requires consent, Google Analytics will not be activated until a visitor consents to Analytics cookies through the Usercentrics banner. Visitors may withdraw or change consent at any time through the Usercentrics privacy-settings control displayed on the Platform.
Browser settings may also allow visitors to inspect, block, or delete cookies. Google's supported Analytics opt-out browser add-on is available at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent a requested feature from working.
If we introduce behavioural advertising or another materially different tracking technology, we will update this Policy and implement any legally required consent or opt-out mechanism before using it.
7. Public and Editorial Content
Information submitted for public display may be viewed, copied, indexed, or redistributed by others. Published articles, comments, letters, and author biographies may remain in editorial archives after account closure, subject to law and our correction or removal policies. This Policy does not limit lawful newsgathering, reporting, commentary, or archiving.
8. Children
The Platform is a general-audience service and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect their personal information online in a manner governed by the US Children's Online Privacy Protection Act without legally sufficient parental consent. Suspected collection may be reported to privacy@teluguamericans.com.
Some jurisdictions define a child differently. Where Indian children's-data law applies, we will obtain verifiable parental consent and comply with applicable restrictions unless an exemption applies. Purchases, direct messaging, dating, matrimony, and other adult services are restricted to users aged 18 or older.
9. International Processing
The Company is organised in Delaware, United States, and uses editorial, administrative, and technical personnel in India. Information may be processed in the United States, India, and countries where our providers operate. We use reasonable contractual, organisational, and technical safeguards. Acknowledging this notice does not waive a non-waivable privacy right.
10. Security and Retention
We maintain reasonable administrative, technical, and organisational safeguards, but no electronic system is completely secure.
We retain information only as long as reasonably necessary for the relevant service, editorial archives, dispute resolution, security, and legal, accounting, or tax obligations. Retention depends on the nature and sensitivity of the information, the purpose of processing, associated risk, and applicable requirements. Published journalistic material may be retained as part of the permanent editorial archive.
11. Rights and Choices
Depending on residence and applicable law, users may request access, correction, deletion, or portability; withdraw consent; appeal a denied request; or exercise other statutory rights.
Users may unsubscribe through the link in an email, manage Analytics through the Usercentrics privacy-settings control, or email privacy@teluguamericans.com. We may reasonably verify requests. Authorised agents may act where permitted, subject to proof of authority and identity verification. We will not unlawfully discriminate against users exercising privacy rights.
California residents
To the extent the California Consumer Privacy Act applies to us, California residents may have rights to know, access, correct, and delete covered personal information. We do not presently sell personal information, share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, use sensitive personal information to infer characteristics, or have actual knowledge that we sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16.
If applicable law provides an appeal right, email privacy@teluguamericans.com with the subject line "Privacy Appeal."
12. India Privacy Grievances
We are implementing measures intended to support applicable provisions of India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and Digital Personal Data Protection Rules, 2025, as they become applicable. Where consent is the processing basis, it may be withdrawn through the method supplied when obtained or by contacting us. Withdrawal does not affect earlier lawful processing and may prevent delivery of a requested feature.
