Telugu and Indian families across North America will have a packed cultural calendar in October 2026, with Bathukamma, Dasara, Deepavali, Durga Puja and Navratri celebrations scheduled in cities from New York and Detroit to Dallas, Seattle, Los Angeles and Toronto.

For Telugu Americans in particular, Bathukamma and Dasara celebrations will form a major part of the month’s community calendar, with Telangana organizations planning programs across several US states.

TTA plans multi-city Bathukamma and Dasara celebrations

The Telangana American Telugu Association (TTA) is planning a nationwide series of Bathukamma and Dasara celebrations over three weekends in October.

According to the schedule provided by organizers, celebrations are planned for Arizona, Dallas, Miami and Tampa on October 10, followed by New York, Indianapolis, New Jersey and Charlotte on October 11.

Another round is scheduled for Alabama, Seattle and Los Angeles on October 17, with Philadelphia and Atlanta on October 24.

Public event listings confirm at least some of the TTA schedule, including the Arizona program on October 10, a New Jersey celebration on October 11 and the Miami event on October 10. The Miami celebration is listed at SW Focal Point Community Center in Pembroke Pines, Florida.

TTA lists its community information line as 1-866-TTA-SEVA and directs participants to its website for event information.

Detroit prepares for Grand Bathukamma

One of the month’s major Telangana gatherings is scheduled in suburban Detroit, where the Detroit Telangana Community (DTC) will hold its Bathukamma Sambaralu on Saturday, October 17.

DTC’s official event page lists the celebration from 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. at Vibe Credit Union Showplace, 46100 Grand River Ave., Novi, Michigan. The venue was formerly known as Suburban Collection Showplace.

The organization describes Bathukamma as a centerpiece of its efforts to preserve Telangana culture among families in Michigan. DTC, a nonprofit organization established in 2010, says its programs focus on Telangana cultural heritage, community service and engagement with younger generations.

Boston Telugu community marks Dasara and Deepavali

In Massachusetts, the Telugu Association of Greater Boston (TAGB) will present its Dasara Deepavali Dhamaka 2026 on Saturday, October 17, from noon to 9 p.m.

TAGB’s official event page identifies the venue as Littleton High School, 56 King St., Littleton, Massachusetts, adding a more precise location than earlier announcements that described the venue only as being in the Greater Boston area.

The event is being organized as a large Telugu cultural program, with community performances forming a central part of the festivities.

Another Telugu community program supplied for the October calendar is the Women Empowerment Telugu Association (WETA) Bathukamma and Dasara celebration, scheduled for October 17 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Organizers describe it as a multi-city gathering centered on women-led cultural traditions, Kolattam and Dasara festivities.

Bathukamma celebrations extend into Canada

The Telangana festival calendar also extends north of the US border.

The Telangana Canada Association (TCA) has announced Bathukamma Sambaralu for October 17. Its official website lists the event among the association’s upcoming programs.

Event information provided for the celebration lists a 5 p.m. start at Michael Power–St. Joseph High School, 105 Eringate Drive, Etobicoke, Ontario, in the Toronto area. A separate community-events listing also carries the October 17 date and Etobicoke venue.

A week earlier, Windsor Essex County’s 5th Annual Bathukamma Festival will be held on Saturday, October 10, from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. at the Hindu Temple and Cultural Center of Windsor, 7007 Enterprise Way, Windsor, Ontario.

Tourism Windsor Essex Pelee Island confirms the date, hours and venue and describes the program as a celebration featuring floral Bathukamma arrangements, traditional music, dance and community activities.

Garba and Navratri celebrations add to October festivities

The broader Indian-American festival calendar will also feature major Garba and Dandiya programs.

In Southern California, Rangtaali Live with Aishwarya Majmudar is listed for October 3 at 7:30 p.m. at Cerritos College Gymnasium in Norwalk, with the supplied event information naming Yash Entertainment and Tisha Entertainment as organizers.

In the Bay Area, Falguni Pathak will headline Dandiya Dhoom 2026 on Saturday, October 3 at 7:30 p.m. at the Santa Clara Convention Center.

Current event listings confirm the date and venue and identify the Uttar Pradesh Mandal of America as the presenting community organization. The event is part of a two-night Navratri weekend at the convention center.

The ICC Tri-Valley Garba Night is scheduled for October 16 from 7:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. at the Fountain Room of the San Ramon Community Center in San Ramon, California, according to information supplied for the calendar. Bhanu Beats Band is listed as providing live music.

Durga Puja celebrations in California and New Jersey

Durga Puja will also bring large community gatherings and musical performances.

Playback singer Monali Thakur is scheduled to perform at a Durga Puja concert on Saturday, October 17 at 7:30 p.m. at the Santa Clara County Fairgrounds, 344 Tully Road, San Jose.

Current ticket listings identify Bay Area Prabasi Inc and Instant Karma as organizers and describe the program as combining Durga Puja festivities with a live Bengali and Hindi music concert.

On the East Coast, the Princeton Bengali Association is preparing its Durga Puja celebrations for October 10 and 11 at Community Middle School in Plainsboro, New Jersey. The association’s website confirms the two-day festival schedule.

Its October 11 program is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and includes puja activities, bhog and prasad, cultural programs, Dhunuchi dance and Sindur Khela, along with a performance by Bengali singer Rishi Panda.

Telugu and Indian music concerts round out the month

Music will be another major feature of October’s Indian-American entertainment calendar.

Information supplied to TeluguAmericans.com lists Band Infusion, featuring performers from Hyderabad, for an October 2 program at FIVE in Jacksonville, Florida, with Telugu and Hindi music on the program.

At the other end of the month, playback singer Anuradha Sriram is scheduled to perform with Yatra Band on Sunday, October 25 at 5 p.m. at Flora – Venue at Katy in the Houston area, according to the supplied event information.

Together, the programs underline the scale and diversity of the Indian diaspora’s fall festival season. For Telugu families, October will be particularly concentrated around Bathukamma and Dasara, with Telangana associations using the celebrations not only as religious and cultural occasions but also as opportunities for children growing up in North America to participate in Telugu traditions.

With several events occurring on the same weekends — particularly October 10-11 and October 17 — families planning to attend are advised to check directly with organizers for final venue details, registration requirements, ticket prices and schedule changes before traveling.
