Jailer 2 Faces Disappointing Advance Bookings In Telugu States

Superstar Rajinikanth’s much-awaited sequel, Jailer 2, is gearing up for its theatrical release this Thursday. The film was initially expected to register a record-breaking opening for a Tamil film, but the advance booking trends suggest that it may fall short of expectations, particularly in the Telugu market.

The Telugu-dubbed version has reportedly collected only Rs. 3 crore through advance bookings so far. The figure has come as a disappointment, especially considering the massive box office impact of the first instalment in the Telugu states.

Advance bookings in both domestic and overseas markets have reportedly remained below expectations for the Telugu version. The promotional content and music have also failed to generate the anticipated buzz among Telugu audiences, raising questions about the film’s opening-day prospects.

With pre-release momentum appearing weaker than expected, Jailer 2 may have to depend heavily on audience word of mouth and positive reviews to gain traction at the box office. Much will now depend on director Nelson Dilipkumar’s execution and whether the sequel can win over audiences after its theatrical release.
