Updated: Oct 10
Jai Hanuman, the much awaited project from filmmaker Prasanth Varma’s Prasanth Varma Cinematic Universe, is generating considerable buzz. The sequel to Teja Sajja’s blockbuster Hanu-Man has raised expectations among audiences across the country.
After a grand pooja ceremony in Hampi in February, the film is reportedly progressing with its shoot at a brisk pace. Meanwhile, a fresh casting rumour surrounding the project has sparked excitement on social media.
According to reports circulating in film industry circles, Mamitha Baiju, who won the hearts of young audiences with Premalu and established herself as a sought after actress in the South Indian film industry, is being considered for a key role in the mythological sequel. Reports suggest that Prasanth Varma approached her for a character that could play a crucial part in the story and that she has already given her nod to the project. However, the makers are yet to confirm the development officially.
Kannada star Rishab Shetty, known for Kantara, is reportedly set to portray Lord Hanuman in the film. There is also speculation that Rana Daggubati will appear in a powerful antagonist role. If Mamitha joins the cast, her addition would further raise expectations surrounding the ambitious project.
The reported casting has prompted fans to speculate about the scale and vision of the film, with many expressing excitement over the combination of actors from different film industries.
Produced by Mythri Movie Makers on a reportedly grand scale, Jai Hanuman is said to revolve around Lord Hanuman’s promise to Lord Rama in the present age of Kali Yuga. The film is expected to combine mythological elements with contemporary emotions and feature high-end visual effects aimed at an international standard.
Prasanth Varma has earned recognition for blending mythology with modern storytelling. With Rishab Shetty and Rana Daggubati reportedly associated with the project, the possible addition of Mamitha Baiju has added another layer of intrigue.
An official announcement from the filmmakers regarding Mamitha Baiju’s reported involvement is awaited.
