Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh IT and HRD minister Nara Lokesh has invited pharmaceutical companies to invest in the state, pitching its ports, airports, industrial infrastructure and upcoming bulk drug park as key advantages for the sector.

Participating in a round-table meeting at BioAsia 2026, Lokesh said the state government was working with the objective of attracting investments and creating a favourable ecosystem for pharmaceutical companies.

Highlighting Andhra Pradesh’s connectivity, the minister said the state has four major ports — Visakhapatnam, Krishnapatnam, Kakinada and Gangavaram — besides six airports. This network, coupled with the state’s industrial infrastructure, offered significant logistical advantages to pharmaceutical manufacturers, he said.

Lokesh also highlighted the Bulk Drug Park being developed at Nakkapalli over about 2,000 acres. He said the project, along with the availability of land, port connectivity and supporting infrastructure, would help pharmaceutical companies establish manufacturing facilities in the state.

The minister said Andhra Pradesh offered opportunities for pharma companies looking to expand their manufacturing operations and assured prospective investors of support from the state government.

Representatives of various pharmaceutical companies and industry organisations participated in the round-table meeting.
