The upcoming mythological epic Ramayana, directed by Nitesh Tiwari, continues to generate buzz among moviegoers. Featuring Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama and Kannada actor Yash as Ravana, the ambitious pan-world project has raised expectations with Oscar-winning composer AR Rahman and legendary Hollywood composer Hans Zimmer working on its music.

National Award-winning music composer, singer and actor GV Prakash Kumar has now revealed how he became part of the prestigious project.

Speaking about the experience, GV Prakash Kumar said he recorded a song for Ramayana soon after returning from Ayodhya. He revealed that he had no prior knowledge of his involvement in the film until Rahman called him unexpectedly.

“I recorded a wonderful song for Ramayana immediately after returning from Ayodhya. It was an incredible experience, something I had never imagined would happen in my life. I did not even know beforehand that I would be part of the film. While returning home from the airport after my Ayodhya trip, I unexpectedly received a call from AR Rahman sir, who asked me to come over and sing a song,” GV Prakash Kumar revealed.

Interestingly, GV Prakash Kumar recently composed the songs for the devotional film Irumudi, with its spiritual compositions receiving attention from listeners. His visit to Ayodhya followed by an opportunity to sing for a film based on Lord Rama's story has made the experience particularly special.

GV Prakash Kumar has previously sung several popular songs under AR Rahman's musical direction. His return to Rahman's fold for a major project like Ramayana has added to the excitement surrounding the film's soundtrack.

Currently in production, Ramayana is among the most anticipated Indian film projects. The latest update about GV Prakash Kumar's involvement has further heightened curiosity among moviegoers and music lovers.
