SiliconAndhra Calls on Musicians for Guinness World Record Attempt

SiliconAndhra has issued a final call to vocalists and instrumentalists to participate in “Sangitamruta Varshini”, a large-scale musical presentation involving more than 1,000 artistes as part of an attempt to enter the Guinness World Records.

The program is being organised as part of SiliconAndhra’s silver jubilee celebrations, marking 25 years of its efforts to promote Telugu literature, culture and tradition. Singers as well as artistes playing the violin, flute, mridangam, veena, keyboard and ghatam have been invited to join the record attempt.

The organizers said the initiative was aimed at celebrating India’s musical heritage, bringing artistes together in harmony and creating a memorable cultural achievement for future generations. The event is expected to feature a coordinated performance by participants drawn from different musical disciplines.

Five classical compositions have been selected for the presentation: Kondalalo Nelakonna by Annamayya, Takuuvemi Manaku by Ramadasu, Endaro Mahanubhavulu by Thyagaraju, Anandamruthavarshini by Muttuswami, and Thillana by Mangalampalli Balamuralikrishna. The compositions represent the rich devotional and classical music traditions associated with Telugu and Carnatic culture. Annamacharya, Ramadasu and Thyagarju are renowned for their devotional compositions, while Muthuswami Dikshitar is celebrated as one of the Trinity of Carnatic music and Mangalampalli Balamuralikrishna is a 20th-century musical genius.

To help participants prepare for the coordinated performance, SiliconAndhra has announced that song recordings and musical notations will be provided to registered artistes. This is expected to ensure uniformity in rendition and enable singers and instrumentalists from different regions to rehearse according to the prescribed format.

The organizers have appealed to music teachers, students, professional performers and cultural organizations to take part in the initiative. The campaign describes the programme as an opportunity for artistes to allow their voices and instruments to “become part of history”.

The Guinness World Records attempt is also expected to be a major attraction of SiliconAndhra’s 25th anniversary celebrations. The organisation has urged interested participants to complete their registrations and follow official updates regarding rehearsals, performance guidelines and other arrangements.
