Across the United States and Canada, Telugu associations and community organizations recreate many of the traditions associated with festivals in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana while adapting them to life in North America. For Telugu Americans and Telugu-speaking families in Canada, festivals such as Ugadi, Sankranti, Bathukamma, Bonalu, Vinayaka Chavithi and Deepavali are more than annual celebrations. They have become an important way to preserve Telugu traditions, introduce
